Timeline for Jukado
  • 1972 - Started by Grand Master Terry Suyom Mayer in her garage at 17 Pearl Street in Brandon, Vermont. Soon expanded to several locations.

  • 1996 - Grand Master Terry officially retires, passing the torch to her son Allan Viernes, and Greater Portland School of Jukado officially becomes hombu for Jukado. Classes held at Maine Academy of Gymnastics.

  • 1998 - School moves to 3,000 sq.ft. space on first floor of Dana Warp Mill.

  • 1999 - School expands again and moves upstairs to current 8,000 sq. ft facility.

  • 2002 - 30th Anniversary of Jukado celebrated in June.

  • 2006 - Landmark 10th Anniversary Jukado Friendship Tournament attracts a record number of competitors.
